On the third floor of a newly constructed five-story building in Seoul, a 198-square-meter office space has been thoughtfully redesigned. The client, who purchased the entire building, chose to occupy this floor for their own operations while leasing out the remaining levels—a strategy balancing business and functionality. The designer took on the challenge of translating “the way we work” into a physical environment that supports collaboration, flexibility, and structure.
The primary goal was to accommodate various team configurations. The client requested space for five 5-person teams, one 3-person team, a CEO office, and a large conference room that could hold up to 30 people. The meeting room was designed to be flexible: it can function as two separate rooms during daily use, or be combined into one large hall for full-team gatherings.
The design layout prioritizes functionality, circulation, and access to natural light. The open office area and meeting rooms are strategically placed along the window side to maximize daylight and views for the staff. Meanwhile, core spaces such as the CEO’s office, reception, and support areas are organized centrally, ensuring privacy without compromising accessibility.
The meeting rooms use movable partitions, allowing them to adapt between smaller team meetings and larger company-wide sessions. The CEO’s office is not just a private room, but also includes an informal lounge area to support spontaneous discussions and client hosting.
In addition to interior design, the project included the development of the building’s entire signage system. Although newly built, the space required intuitive wayfinding for both users and visitors. A unified signage design approach contributed to a seamless and cohesive brand experience throughout the building
